Assess readiness, plan FHIR APIs and data mapping, coordinate consent workflows, and test prior authorization processes with the teams responsible for delivery.
CMS-0057-F adds and enhances FHIR API requirements for impacted payers, generally beginning January 1, 2027. Certain operational provisions generally began January 1, 2026. Exact dates depend on payer type; this rule’s prior authorization provisions exclude drugs.

Medicare Part D formulary and benefit exchange and prescriber real-time benefit standards change on January 1, 2027; the NCPDP SCRIPT transition follows on January 1, 2028. Separately, HTI-4 updates prescribing and prescription-benefit certification requirements for applicable health IT modules, with key transitions in 2028.

USCDI v3 became the baseline for applicable ONC Health IT Certification Program criteria on January 1, 2026. It is not a universal new mandate for every healthcare organization. Required data and implementation-guide versions depend on the program, product and use case.

Brady brings 10 years of experience in healthcare, with a background in healthcare software, product management, technology programs and interoperability. His experience includes EMR/EHR platforms, public APIs and integrations.
His experience spans medical devices, hospitals and health systems, health insurance, senior care and clinical research software. That work includes patient monitoring systems, hospital revenue and pharmacy platforms, insurance enrollment tools, and software serving pharmaceutical, biotechnology and clinical research organizations.
He helps teams make sense of complex problems, align on a practical plan and move work through delivery.
